When you’re down to the last pair of pants or have run out of socks, it’s incredibly frustrating for your Electrolux washing machine to malfunction. You look at the appliance and notice a random letter and number. What you may not know is these random letters and numbers are actually telling you what the fault with the washing machine is. There are many models of Electrolux washing machine and a great range of error codes. However, we have compiled a list of the most common Electrolux washing machine error codes:
-
E10/11/12: Water Inlet Fault, or your appliance isn’t filling with water during the washing phase of the cycle.
Advice: Check the taps are turned on and the hose isn’t kinked/blocked. If that doesn’t work, the water inlet valve needs replacing. -
E13: Water level drops below a certain point.
Advice: Check the hoses for leaks. The pressure sensor may need replacing by an engineer. -
E20/21/22/23/24: These error codes indicate an issue with the drain in some capacity.
Advice: Check the drain hoses and filter for damage/blockages. If they appear ok, an engineer may be required to fit a new drain pump or PCB. -
E25: Wrong input signal received by microprocessor.
Advice: New PCB will need to be fitted. -
E31/32/35: Pressure switch issue.
Advice: Inspect the wiring, hoses, inlet valve and drain for damage. If any are damaged, the main PCB will likely need replacing. -
E40/41/42/43/44/45: Issue with the door lock.
Advice: Check the door is closed properly. If the code still shows, then it's an issue with door lock. This will need replacing. If the new door lock doesn’t work, the PCB will need replacing. -
E50: Motor fault.
Advice: Check the electrical plugs are connected to the motor and the wiring. If it's all ok, then the motor will need to be checked by a qualified engineer. -
E60/61: Heating fault.
Advice: An engineer will need to check the temperature sensor and element are defective using a multimeter. The PCB may need replacing should they be defective. -
E62: Overheating water during the wash.
Advice: Check the inlet hose is connected to the cold, then check the temperature sensor. If faulty, it will need to be replaced.
