Just like any piece of machinery that is designed to make our life easier, dishwashers have their off-days and may let us down. After all, these are busy members of the household, working hard to clean all that dirty crockery, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans.
When your Indesit dishwasher, quite literally, takes a break you’ll be alerted to what has gone wrong by the display of an error or fault code on the machine. While this code doesn’t pinpoint the exact problem with your Indesit dishwasher, it will certainly give a pointer to the machine function that needs attention, so it’s a good idea to take note of it.
An error code isn’t much help unless you can decode it, so we’ve picked the brains of our knowledgeable dishwasher repair engineers here at Capital Repairs to find out what each code indicates, and what repairs may be necessary to fix your Indesit dishwasher.
Please note that this is not a definitive list because there are many different models of Indesit dishwashers available, but we’ve picked the most useful/common Indesit dishwasher error codes you’re likely to come across.
Some Indesit dishwashers have LED light displays, too, which flash in various sequences to signify different malfunction alerts. These involve five different lights using dozens of flashing configurations, in a horizontal or vertical interface.
If you’d like to figure out the LED flashing error codes on your Indesit dishwasher, refer to your handbook, contact the manufacturer or give Capital Repairs a call on 0800 056 3738 for advice. We’re always happy to help.
Here are the Indesit Dishwasher error codes you’ll come across on your machine’s digital display if something goes wrong with your late model integrated or free-standing Indesit dishwasher:
Indesit Dishwasher Error Code Meanings & Fixes
F01 Anti-flooding overflow
Check for leaks around the dishwasher, inspect the dishwasher pan for accumulated water, and ensure the dishwasher is sitting level. If the leak persists, call a qualified dishwasher repair engineer.
F02 Water fill solenoid valve failure
Check the water supply is turned on fully. Clean the water inlet filter. If the issue persists, the solenoid valve might need replacing by a qualified expert.
F03 Water drain failure/timeout
Check for, and clear, any blockages in the drain hose and filter. Ensure the drain hose isn’t kinked. Check the pump for obstructions. If this doesn’t resolve the problem the drain pump might be faulty and will need to be investigated by a qualified dishwasher repair engineer.
F04 Thermostat fault
This code may be resolved by resetting the machine. Do this by unplugging the Indesit dishwasher from the power source, then plugging back in after a few minutes and restarting. If the error code is still showing, you’ll need to call in a repair engineer who will probably need to replace the thermostat on the dishwasher.
F06 Water fill timeout
When your Indesit dishwasher is failing to take in water – or sufficient water – to get going, the first thing to do is check that the water supply is turned on fully. Then clean out the water inlet filter and check that the water supply is not compromised and is flowing freely. If the error code doesn’t go away call a dishwasher repair engineer. The problem will no doubt be a faulty water inlet valve.
F07 Water turbine damaged
There are no quick-fix DIY options for this one. When this code shows up it means the water turbine is damaged and will need to be replaced by a qualified Indesit dishwasher repair engineer.
F08 Temperature timeout fault
Similar to F04 as mentioned above, this Indesit error code could be cancelled by resetting the dishwasher (unplug, wait a few minutes, then restart). If it doesn’t go away, an expert will be needed to potentially replace the faulty thermostat or heating element.
F10 Heating element fault
This error code is pretty much self-explanatory, and more than likely points to a faulty heating element. There’s no solution other than to have it replaced by a qualified dishwasher repair engineer.
F11 Wash pump failure
When you see this error code you’ll need to call in a professional dishwasher repair engineer to troubleshoot the wash pump, which has failed or become faulty for some reason. It could have become clogged up, the impeller could be broken or a filter blocked. The pump will probably have to be replaced.
