Great advice & customer service on the supply of our recent integrated fridge/freezer from Capital Repairs. Our old Neff integrated fridge freezer was ‘packing up’ after 15+yrs hard duty and we were under pressure to get a new one supplied and fitted quickly. They supplied and fitted the new appliance and removed the old one In less than 48hrs ! fantastic! Big thanks to the young fitter Zack he was very diligent and skilled on what was tricky integrated appliance install

Having had excellent and quick service from Capital who sent engineers to sort out problems with my dishwasher and tumble dryer, I decided to buy a replacement dishwasher from them too. I was able to speak to real person! Who told me what they had available, I selected and bought it and was offered delivery two days later. Kept up-to-date on the timing of the delivery and the two men who came, fitted took away the old machine couldn't have been more helpful. I thoroughly recommend this company for swift and excellent service

Dan Lewis is a brilliant engineer. A REAL engineer and just not a techie. He sorted the awful noise from my Sharp Fridge freezer which I bought from AO.com.Dan’s knowledge base is considerable and he is extremely personable and humble. Will always want him to repair my ‘white’ goods. Most grateful as he has reduced the overall noise level of the fridge freezer.

Very good follow up be email to organize the appointment; engineer came on time and repair was very quick; the only thing which could have been improved was to mention somewhere that ETA means Estimated time of arrival....it usually has another common meaning.

From the outset Rebecka was very helpful, we had several appliances to fix so it was complicated to set up. All the pricing was very clear and once booked I was kept up to date and the engineer arrived on time. Jason the engineer was able to fix most things onsite and identified the fault one the other appliance quickly. The follow up with Rebecka has been very efficient.Highly Recommended.
Man repairing a dishwasher

If you’ve gone to open your dishwasher after a cycle and notice that you have a smelly and stale puddle at the bottom of your unit, you’re not the first. It’s very common for dishwashers not to drain completely, as it’s very easy for the mechanisms that provide draining to be impeded.

We’ve put together a short guide on what to do if your dishwasher isn’t draining and get it back to tip-top condition.

  • Run a second dishwashing cycle, as the first cycle may have been interrupted and not complete its full draining process.
  • If your dishwasher still isn’t draining after a second cycle, the problem will be with your dishwasher. The first thing to check is your dishwasher’s filter. Filters are there to prevent excess debris from entering the water pipes and creating a bigger clog. Filters are easily enough to be removed and clean.
  • Locate your filter, which can be found at the bottom of the machine, underneath the lower sprayer arm. Twist the cylindrical filter to release the filter from the dishwasher. Lift the mesh filter plate and inspect for any damages and pieces of debris.
  • Run the filter pieces under some water to wash away any debris and grease. You may wish to use hot soapy water and a cloth for extra tough grime.
  • Replace the filter and fill up the dishwasher as usual. When it’s time for another cycle, make sure to check if the drainage problem is still an issue.

If you’ve cleaned the filter and are still having drainage issues with your dishwasher, the next place to look is the drain hose, which is located under the sink, and connected to the same drain line as the kitchen sink.

It is very unlikely that you will find big pieces of food debris in the drainage hose, as it would have to pass through the filter. However, that doesn’t mean there can’t be a build of debris over time. To clean the drain hose, make sure the dishwasher is off and disconnect the hose from the drain line and tip it into a receptacle like a bowl. You may need to use a long instrument such as a chopstick or knitting needle to agitate the clog.

Lastly, if you’ve checked the previous two methods and are still experiencing drainage issues, it’s possible that the drain pump is damaged. A drain pump can easily be blocked by debris such as food and foreign objects like broken glass. If you suspect that your drain pump is damaged, get in touch with a qualified professional such as those at Capital Repairs. The drain pump location is underneath the machine and will also need special tools such as a multimeter to ensure the pump is functioning correctly.
